2012 San Diego Film Critics Society Winners

San Diego hand their top honours over to Mr. Ben Affleck, with the majority of their remaining winners slighty off centre, too.

Daniel Day-Lewis may have won yet another prize for his title role in Lincoln, but Best Actress and Supporting Actress are a nice talking point here, especially when the two ladies in question are far from expected to receive an Oscar nomination. But it sure does make a welcome change to think outside the box.

2012 Detroit Film Critics Society Nominations

Ahh, finally. Something a little more refreshing.

David O. Russell’s Silver Linings Playbook leads the nominations, with Sarah Polley’s Take This Waltz also a big Detroit favourite.

There’s a lot to look at here, with a good dollop of nominations for The Impossible and The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, as well as the ever-deserving Matthew McConaughey once again in the mix.

2011 Vancouver Film Critics Circle Award Winners

Hello, Canada calling. More love for Fassbender here with another win for Shame and Elizabeth Olsen gathers another accolade for her work in Martha Marcy May Marlene. There’s some prizes specifically for Canadian films which draws our attention to Cronenberg’s A Dangerous Method, Michelle Williams (away from Marilyn) and Peter Stomare.
