2011 Detroit Film Critics Society Award Winners

Boring….. Apart from Fassy winning for Shame. Oh, and Mulligan winning for it too. Good job McQueen. Continue reading

2011 Online Film Critics Society Award Nominations

The Online Film Critics Society have one of my favourite Best Supporting Actor selections to date. And their addition of Dunst and Olsen in the Best Actress category definitely hasn’t gone unnoticed. Von Trier gets a Best Director nod – an absolute rarity. If his ‘snubs’ have merely been due to the Cannes confusion, the Academy need to man the hell up. 2011 St. Louis Gateway Film Critics Association Award Winners

It’s really great to see Drive still firmly in people’s minds, even if only on the periphery in anything other than Best Supporting Actor. The winners here aren’t anything out of the ordinary, but it’s interesting to see Mara rewarded for The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and it really does make me think she could have eclipsed Noomi’s Lisbeth. But that’s hard to imagine! Apart from that, check out Alan Rickman’s nod further down with the rest of the winners below: Continue reading

2011 Southeastern Film Critics Association Award Winners

2011 St. Louis Gateway Film Critics Association Award Nominations

Next, it’s St. Louis’ turn to have their moment in the limelight. Notice the additions of My Week With Marilyn as a Best Film contender, David Fincher for Best Director and love for Rooney Mara and Saoirse Ronan. The Best Supporting Actor nominees are the most varied we’ve seen so far and I’m loving the Troll Hunter inclusion. Check out the full list of nominees below: Continue reading

2011 San Francisco Film Critics Circle Award Winners

Oh my life this is just getting crazy now. The world and his dog seem to be wanting to have their say today. But I guess it’s kind of exciting. This time it’s San Francisco’s turn and they’re keeping the love for The Tree Of Life and Albert Brooks. However, it’s worth noting that this is the first time Gary Oldman and Tilda Swinton have been awarded in this crazy run of Awards – SF obviously love us Brits. Cheers guys.
