2011 National Society Of Film Critics Award Winners

The National Society Of Film Critics apparently speak the truth, once every twelve months. Yes, I think it’s great recognition has been given to The Tree Of Life, Gary Oldman and Margaret, but I can’t say I agree with anyone giving Melancholia the prize for Best Picture. But that’s just me. Check out the full list of winners below: Continue reading

2011 Central Ohio Film Critics Association Award Winners

Central Ohio love Drive. They love Nicolas Winding Refn and Ryan Gosling and I don’t blame them. I just wish more Associations and Societies were brave enough to give it the attention it deserves. Away from Drive’s wins here, check out the Best Actress category and cheeky little wins for Source Code and Hanna. As ever, check out the full list of winners below: Continue reading

The 23rd Annual Producers Guild Awards – Nominations

This whole Tintin ‘animated’ debacle is still confusing me a little. IT’S NOT ANIMATED. And Jamie Bell told you this himself. I’m a little sad that The Tree Of Life didn’t get a mention and I guess I was far too hopeful to expect to see Drive pop up. But Bridesmaids sure seems to have sticking power. The 64th Writers Guild Of America Awards – Nominations

I’m a little surprised not to see The Ides Of March included here, but I’m loving the inclusion of 50/50 and Win Win. As much as I’ve been perplexed by the amount of love McCarthy’s been getting for her role in Bridesmaids, it’s great to see it recognised here. 2012 Vancouver Film Critics Circle Award Nominations

Time to move to Canada. Vancouver have constructed their noms a little differently, opting for a less conventional three in each category (aside from Best Documentary and Best Screenplay). This has resulted in the inclusion of Fassbender and Shannon alongside Dujardin, with Olsen replacing what can only have been Swinton’s slot. We also see Melissa McCarthy pop up once more for Bridesmaids. I’m still a little confused by this… Check out the full list of nominees below: Continue reading

2011 Detroit Film Critics Society Award Winners

Boring….. Apart from Fassy winning for Shame. Oh, and Mulligan winning for it too. Good job McQueen. Continue reading

2011 Online Film Critics Society Award Nominations

The Online Film Critics Society have one of my favourite Best Supporting Actor selections to date. And their addition of Dunst and Olsen in the Best Actress category definitely hasn’t gone unnoticed. Von Trier gets a Best Director nod – an absolute rarity. If his ‘snubs’ have merely been due to the Cannes confusion, the Academy need to man the hell up.
