2011 Online Film Critics Society Award Winners

Yes, OFCS, you may collect £200 and pass go. I said last week that I rather loved their nominations and the winners are pretty agreeable too. Swinton and Fassbender’s respective wins are hardly going to upset anybody and it’s great to see The Tree Of Life rein back some of The Artist’s attention. 2011 Online Film Critics Society Award Nominations

The Online Film Critics Society have one of my favourite Best Supporting Actor selections to date. And their addition of Dunst and Olsen in the Best Actress category definitely hasn’t gone unnoticed. Von Trier gets a Best Director nod – an absolute rarity. If his ‘snubs’ have merely been due to the Cannes confusion, the Academy need to man the hell up. 2011 Alliance Of Women Film Journalists Award Nominations

The AWFJ have obviously had a lot of fun with their Actress Most In Need Of A New Agent and Hall Of Shame categories, but aside from that their choices aren’t particularly exciting (although they have opted for both Rickman and Serkis in the Best Supporting slot). Sacrilege occurs further down when naming Drive as a Movie You Wanted To Love But Just Couldn’t, but the Most Egregious Age Difference category is rather amusing. Check out these rather unconventional nominations below: Continue reading

2011 Florida Film Critics Circle Award Winners

The Artist only gets one Award here from the FFCC for Best Original Screenplay, apparently bucking its original sweeping trend. Michelle Williams seems to be unstoppable, with Albert Brooks and Shailene Woodley adding more accolades to their great run so far. See the rest of the winners below: Continue reading

2011 Southeastern Film Critics Association Award Winners

No prizes for The Artist? Well this is rather refreshing. Check out the SEFCA’s winners below: Continue reading

2011 Broadcast Film Critics Association Award Nominations

The BFCA have done two things that make me very happy. They’ve given a hell of a lot of love to Drive (eight nods, in fact) and they’ve nominated Nick Nolte for his absolutely heartbreaking performance in Warrior, a film that will be showcased when I eventually write up my Top Ten of 2011. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy has been left out entirely which is more than a shock and it’s interesting to see Andy Serkis get yet another nomination for Best Supporting Actor. 2011 San Diego Film Critics Society Award Nominations
