My broken arm calls for a slightly different (and bitesize) reviewing format. So here’s ten things I want to say about Prometheus:

2011 Central Ohio Film Critics Association Award Winners

Central Ohio love Drive. They love Nicolas Winding Refn and Ryan Gosling and I don’t blame them. I just wish more Associations and Societies were brave enough to give it the attention it deserves. Away from Drive’s wins here, check out the Best Actress category and cheeky little wins for Source Code and Hanna. As ever, check out the full list of winners below: Continue reading

2011 Broadcast Film Critics Association Award Nominations

The BFCA have done two things that make me very happy. They’ve given a hell of a lot of love to Drive (eight nods, in fact) and they’ve nominated Nick Nolte for his absolutely heartbreaking performance in Warrior, a film that will be showcased when I eventually write up my Top Ten of 2011. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy has been left out entirely which is more than a shock and it’s interesting to see Andy Serkis get yet another nomination for Best Supporting Actor. Check out the full list of nominees below: Continue reading

2011 Detroit Film Critics Society Award Nominations

Best Director nods for both Drive and Take Shelter? This is my kind of Society!! It’s all pretty straight forward, but Detroit obviously love Gosling as they’ve given him recognition in the Best Supporting category for Crazy, Stupid, Love, bizarrely. It’s also interesting how it’s Felicity Jones and not Elizabeth Olsen who is included in both Best Breakthrough and Best Actress, but I’m expecting the love for Olsen to grow come January. As always, check below for the full list of nominations:
